Windows Virtual Desktop for macOS

PLEASE NOTE: This article refers to virtual desktop services primarily deployed during the COVID-19 pandemic emergency.  The majority of virtual desktop systems are no longer available for use as of May 2024, and this article is pending review.

Copy/Paste the following URL into a web browser on a computer running macOS on your Apple Computer. https://apps.apple.com/us/app/microsoft-remote-desktop/id1295203466?mt=12

The URL above will bring you to the following page. Click View In Mac App Store.

Once in the macOS App Store, Click Get and enter your Apple ID and Password to download the application if prompted.

Download the Microsoft Remote Desktop app

 

Microsoft will ask you if you want to share usage data. Click Not now.

The following window will launch. After clicking on the Workspaces tab toward the top of the window, Click Add Workspace

click on Add Workspace

 

Copy/Paste the following URL into the Email or workspace URL text field and click Add: https://rdweb.wvd.microsoft.com/api/arm/feeddiscovery

After clicking Add, you will be required to sign-in with your Rhode Island College Office 365 Email Address. Please use your full email address, making sure to include the underscore and numbers. Once you enter your full email address, proceed to the next step by clicking Next.

Enter your Rhode Island College Office 365 password and click Sign in

Enter your password

You may be prompted to Approve your sign-in request (MFA) via the Authenticator App or a SMS code

Once you approve the sign-in, you will be presented with a list of applications you can use.
