Why is my video preview sideways in Blackboard Collaborate?
The Problem
When starting a Blackboard Collaborate session the preview video appears sideways.
Why is this happening?
According to Blackboard, this is a known issue. This problem occurs when using a 2 in 1 convertible laptop (like a Microsoft Surface)is running the Microsoft Edge Web Browser. Microsoft Edge is the default web browser on Windows 10.
The Solution
There are two solutions to this issue:
- Solution 1:
Reorient the video feed
- Unlock the screen rotation mechanism
- Rotate the device
- Solution 2:
Switch to another web browser such as Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox.
