Add Another Instructor to Your Academic Course

1. Once you have logged into your Blackboard account, click the course you want to add a user to.

2. Below Details & Actions, click “View everyone in your course”.

In the Details & Actions panel the left red arrow is pointing to View everyone in your course in blue below Roster.

3. In the top right-hand corner, click Enroll People icon.

In the Roster panel, the right red arrow is pointing to the plus sign within the circle on the far left side of the screen.

 

4. Type the user's name.

In the Enroll People panel, the left red arrow is pointing to the Type a name to find and enroll.

 

5. Click the plus sign to the right of the user's name.

In the Enroll People panel, Toms was entered in and the right red arrow is pointing to the plus sign within the circle.

 

6. Click the down arrow and then select the course permission level you want to provide this user with.

The right red arrow with the number 1 is pointing to the down arrow which opens a drop menu and the left red arrow with the number 2 is pointing to the Course Copier option. There are additional options which are Student, Teaching Assistant, Instructor and Participant.

 

The choices are:

  • Participant = Read Only Access to Content & ability to Post in the Discussion Boards - no gradebook, no tests
  • Instructor = full control as Co-Instructor
  • Course Copier = Ability to *only* course copy content over to another course 
  • Teaching Assistant = early access, full Grade Book and they don't show up as a student in the Grade Book
  • Student = Please don't use this role at this time. 

Click "Save"

The down right arrow is pointing to the Save button. The Save button is filled with black with white text Save.

 

User has been successfully added to your course with the role you provided him or her with.
