Ultra - Inline File Rendering

This will show you the file options when attaching file within an Ultra Document, assignments, and tests.

Instructors can edit the settings of attached files to allow students to view them in the course window without downloading them first. Currently, this feature is available in Assessments, Documents, and the Course Content stream. It is unavailable in Discussions and Journals.

Select one of the options below to see step-by-step instructions for inline file rendering:


Assessments (Tests or Assignments)

1. Within an Assessment (assignment or test), navigate to the Content and Settings tab and click the purple plus sign:

2. Select “Add local file" from the dropdown menu:

3. After you select a file from your local machine, the “Edit File Options” window will appear. Optionally, change the name of the file under “Display Name”:

4. Click one of the three radial buttons to specify the file options available to students. By default, “View and download” is selected:

5. Click “Save” in the Edit File Options window:

6. Click “Save” again under the file title to attach it to the assessment:

Documents

1. Within a Blackboard Document, navigate to the Content tab and click “Add Content”:

2. Select the paper clip in the toolbar of the content editor to attach a file from your local machine:

3. After you select a file from your local machine, the “Edit File Options” window will appear. Optionally, change the name of the file under “Display Name”:

4. Click one of the three radial buttons to specify the file options available to students. By default, “View and download” is selected:

5. Click “Save” in the Edit File Options window:

6. Click “Save” again under the content editor to attach the file to the Blackboard Document:

Course Content Page

1. On the Course Content page, click the purple plus sign and select “Upload” to attach a file from your local machine:

2. After you select a file from your local machine, the “Edit File Options” window will appear. Optionally, change the name of the file under “Display Name”:

3. Click one of the three radial buttons to specify the file options available to students. By default, “View and download” is selected:
