Ultra - SafeAssign DirectSubmit

Summary

DirectSubmit allows you to add quickly add resources to the institutional database that aren't already available in SafeAssign. You can also use it as a private library of content you believe students might copy from, or to submit content on behalf of a student for originality testing.

1. From the course Content tab, select “View course & institution tools” under “Details and Actions”:

2. Click “SafeAssign” under “Instructor tools” in the Books & Course Tools panel:

3. Click “Upload file” or “Copy/paste text” to add a submission:

  • If you chose to upload a file, drag the file into the upload box or click “Upload a file” to attach the student's submission:

  • If you chose "Copy/paste text", add a title for the submission under "Title" and paste the content of the document under "Text":

4. Click the checkboxes in the popup window to specify whether you would like to check for plagiarism, add the file to the institutional database, and/or make the submission available to other instructors in the course:

5. Click "Submit". SafeAssign may take a few moments to process the submission. You may refresh the page to check the status of the report:

6. Once the report is complete, the “Matching” column will reflect the degree to which the submission matches other documents in the database. Select the icon in the “Report” column to view detailed information:

7. The originality report will highlight areas of the submission which match other documents in the institutional and global databases. Click "View Report Summary" to see an overview of findings for the submission. See SafeAssign Originality Report for more information on the report and interpreting SafeAssign scores.
