Ultra - Adding a Manual Gradable Item (Column)

Summary

This article will show you how to add in a manual gradable item (column) to the the gradebook. A manual gradable item will be associated to an assessment that your students are not taking within your Blackboard course. (I.e. In-person paper mid-term exam)

1. Navigate to the course Gradebook:

2. Click on View.

3. Hover next to the column header of the where you would like to add an item and click the purple plus sign.

4. Select “Add Item” from the dropdown menu:

5. Type a title for your item into the header of the panel that opens to the right.

6. By default, the item will be hidden from students. You may adjust the visibility settings in the dropdown menu below the title:

7. Set a due date below the visibility settings:

8. Below “Grading”, specify whether you would like grades to reflect as letters, point values, percentages, or completion.

9. Enter the maximum point value (required) and set the grading category from the dropdown menu below:

10. Click “Save” to add the gradable item as a column in the gradebook:
