Accessing the Ally Course Accessibility Report

1. Click “Books & Tools” in the Details & Actions panel on the Course Content page:

The Books & Tools option has a red border around it which is located below the Details & Actions section. You will also find the Roster, Progress Tracking, Course Image, Attendance and Question Banks options below the Details & Actions section.

2. Click “Accessibility Report” below “Available tools”

Below available tools, a red arrow is pointing to the Accessibility Report option.

3. The Ally dashboard will provide a snapshot of overall course accessibility, including an accessibility score and an overview of accessibility issues

The overall course score 75% is displaying in the top left hand corner of the accessibility report. Below the overall score is the Overview tab and Content tab. On the Overview tab shows a pie chart divided up by the different content by color (blue, orange and green). It shows that there are 3 images, 3 external links and 3 Ultra documents. Below the chart is the View button which will take you to the content page. To the far right side you will see the Contents with the easiet issues to fix where there are 2 and you will see the Fix low scoring content where there is 3. To the right is the Start button to access the content.

4. To begin correcting accessibility issues, click “Start” next to “Fix low scoring content”:

5. Select an item from the list of low scoring content:

6. Ally will highlight any accessibility issues throughout the content item:

In the Ally in-browser document view, the words with insufficient color contrast have a red box around them.

7. Details about each issue are listed in the feedback panel to the right. Within the feedback panel, you may make corrections and apply them to all occurrences of an issue:

8. After making your selections, click “Apply”:

9. You may also click “All issues” next to the Ally score to see a full list of accessibility issues in the content item:

10. The Ally score will update in real time as you resolve accessibility issues. Click “Close” when you are finished:

The accessiblity score is displaying 100% along with the words Perfect! You have successfully improved the contrast of this item.
