Introduction
In our continuous effort to enhance your experience with RIC systems, we're implementing Single Sign-On (SSO) functionality in MyRIC. Users will no longer view the "Welcome to MyRIC" window upon selecting a MyRIC link or navigating to https://my.ric.edu in their web browser. Instead, users will be redirected to a Microsoft 365 RIC branded page to login where a single-sign-on (SSO) functionality is introduced.
A single-sign-on (SSO) account is an identification method that enables users to log in to multiple applications and websites with one set of credentials. SSO streamlines the authentication process for users. Your RIC SSO Account, provided by Microsoft 365, enables this convenient and secure functionality. Going forward, you will enjoy the convenience of accessing MyRIC platforms with the same login used for Microsoft 365, Blackboard and many other online services, as well as reduce the number of times you are asked to login when switching between online applications and services.
Instructions
On the RIC branded sign in page, type in your RIC SSO Account assigned by the college. This is usually formatted like your RIC e-mail address. For example, an employee may login using an account that is formatted as jdoe_1234@ric.edu, while a student will login with an account formatted as jdoe_1234@email.ric.edu. Then select the Next button.
Type in your RIC SSO Account password.
You may receive a multi-factor authentication request when logging into any service with your RIC SSO Account. If you receive multi-factor authentication codes via text message, please enter the six digit code you received. If you use Microsoft Authenticator for multi-factor authentication, open the Microsoft Authenticator app on the cell phone you have registered with RIC. Enter the number displayed on the RIC SSO Account sign in window into the Authenticator app to approve signing in.
Once you’re finished using MyRIC Portal, select the 3 vertical dots to the upper right corner of the screen and choose the option to Sign Out to conclude the session.
