Importing Word Test into Respondus and Exporting Respondus Test Locally as Question Bank

This article is separated into three sections:


Step 1 Importing Word Test into Respondus

1 - Start Respondus and then click Import Questions.

2 - Click the down arrow and select Microsoft Word 2007 (DOCX).

3 - Click Browse.

4 - Select the Word file that contains the test questions and then click Open.

 5 - Enter a name for the question bank and then click Preview.

The top left arrow is pointing the name and the other left red arrow is pointing to the square with black lettering spelling out Browse.

6 - Just verify that you received no warnings and then click on Finish

7 - Click Ok.

Step 2 - Exporting Respondus Test locally as a Question Bank

1 - Click Preview + Publish.

2 - Click Publish.

3 - Click Publish Wizard.

4 - Turn on "Save pool to local file for manual uploading" and then click Next.

5 - Click Save As.

6 - provide a file name for your question bank and then click on Save. [Note: Make sure that the file name does not have any blank spaces.]

7 - Turn on "Pool - no points" and then click Finish. [Note: Pool means Question Bank in Blackboard Ultra.]

8 - Click Ok

Step 3 - Importing Question Bank in Blackboard course

1. Enter your Blackboard course and then click Manage banks.

2. Click the plus sign.

3. Select Import from file

The left red arrow is pointing to the Import from file option.

4. Select the Question bank zip file and then click Open.

5. You will see the processing message.

6. Once it has done processing, you should see the Question bank and the message "Question bank imported successfully".
