Creating a Playlist

Step 1 - Go into the course.

Step 2 - Below Details & Actions, click on "View course & Institution tools".

Step 3 - Click on "Kaltura Media Gallery".

Step 4 - Click on "Actions" and then click "Create course playlist".

Step 5 - Do the following:

  • Add in a Title.
  • Add in a Description.
  • Add in at least on Tag.

Step 6 - Scroll down to the Create Playlist section and click the plus sign to the right of the video that you want to add to your playlist.

Step 7 - Repeat step 6 to add in additional videos to your playlist.

Step 8 - Verify that you see the videos showing up in the Playlist panel.

Step 9 - Click "Go to Media Gallery".

Step 10 - You now see the Playlist showing up in your Media Gallery.

Editing a Playlist
 

Step 1 - On the Media Gallery page, click "Actions" and then click "Configure".

Step 2 - Click the "Playlist" tab.

Step 3 - Click the pencil icon to the right of your playlist.

Step 4 - Make any changes you need to your playlist such as adding an additional video to your playlist and/or updating the metadata at the top of the page and then click "Save".

Note - If you want to remove a video from your playlist, click the three dots and then select "Remove".

Step 5 - Click "Back to Media Gallery".

Embedding a Playlist in an Existing Ultra Document within Your Course

Step 1 - Decide where you want to embed your playlist in your course. For example, I want to embed the playlist in an existing Ultra Document. 

Step 2 - Click Content.

Step 3 - Click the down arrow and then select "Content Market".

Step 4 - Click "Kaltura Media".

The upward red arrow is pointing to the Kaltura Media option.

Step 5 - Click the "Playlist" tab.

The left red arrow is pointing to the Playlist tab.

Step 6 - Click "Embed".

The downward red arrow is pointing to the Embed button.

Step 7 - Click "Insert".

The downward red arrow is pointing to the Insert button.

Step 8 - Click "Save".

The upward red arrow is pointing to the Save button.


Embedding a Playlist within the Course Content Page

Step 1 - Decide on where you want to place the playlist on the Course Content page and then hover over the doted black line and click the plus sign.

Step 2 - Click "Content Market".

Step 3 - Click "Kaltura Media".

The upward red arrow is pointing to the Kaltura Media option.

Step 4 - Click the "Playlist" tab.

The right red arrow is pointing to the Playlist tab.

Step 5 - Click the custom icon.

The right red arrow is pointing to the customize button that looks like an two links like a scale.

Step 6 - Click the down arrow and then click "1920px width". (Note: This way the playlist player will take up most of the page when your students click on the playlist within the Course Content page.)

Step 7 - Click "Embed".

The red arrow is pointing to the Embed button which is in the lower right hand corner of the page.

Step 8 - The Playlist has been embeded within the Course Content page.
