Creating a Peer Review Assignment

Note: When including peer reviews in an assignment, student names will not appear on any submissions or reviews in student view. However, the instructor will still be able to see student names.

1. Within the assignment window, select the gear icon to the right of “Assignment Settings”:

2. Scroll to the Grading & Submissions section of the Assignment Settings panel. Under “Evaluation options”, click the checkbox next to “Peer review”. Note: this selection will automatically set the submissions to one attempt per student. This setting cannot be adjusted:

3. Click the “Select peer settings” link that appears under “Peer review”:

4. Select the number of reviewers you would like to be assigned to each student’s submission. Note: Reviewers will be assigned automatically and randomly. Late submissions will be accepted and may be reviewed if unassigned reviewers remain:

The number of peer reviews is set to 3.

5. Set separate due dates for the initial assessment submission and the peer review. The due date for the peer review must come after the due date for the initial assessment submission:

The assessment due date was set to 10/29/23 at 11:59 PM. The Peer review due date was set to 11/5/23 at 11:59 PM.

6. Click “Save” at the bottom to save the peer review settings:

7. Click “Save” again at the bottom of the Assignment Settings panel to apply the changes to the assignment:

8. To view students’ feedback to each other, navigate to the "Submissions" tab in the assignment window:

9. Make selections from the “Peer Reviews” column to open the submission window and view student feedback: On the peer review page, it's show the the PreviewUser has completed the peer review.
