Click the three dots to the right of your assignment.

Click the gear icon to open up the Assignment Settings.

The right red arrow is pointing to the Assignment Settings gear icon located on the right hand side.

Scroll down to the Additional Tools section and click Enable SafeAssign.

Below the Additional Tools section, the left red arrow is pointing to the blue Enable SafeAssign text.

(Optional) Turn on Allow students to view the SafeAssign Originality Report for their attempts. [NOTE: If you have this option turned on then the students will have access to the SafeAssign Originality Report once they have submitted their work to the assignment.)

The white text Originality Report is in the black rectangle box. Below this box, the Enable SafeAssign is enabled and the allow students to view the SafeAssign Originality Report for their attempts is turn on.

We normally recommend that you leave Exclude submissions from the institutional and Global Reference Database turned off in less this assignment is truly a draft assignment. If this assignment's title has the work Draft in it and it only has one attempt and they will be submitting their final work to a different assignment then you want to turn on Exclude submissions from the institutional and Global Reference Database. This way you and the student will have access to the SafeAssign Originality Report. However, the work is not added to RIC's institutional database and the Global Reference Database.

(Optional) Click the (?) Question mark to access Blackboard Support material on SafeAssign.

The right red arrow is pointing to the hollow bubble with a place question mark.

Click Save.

Two buttons with the word Cancel in the gray box and the word Save in the black box. The down red arrow is pointing to the Save button indicating that this is the button to click.
