AI Design Assistant - Creating a Test from Existing Course Content

 

This article is separated into three sections:


Step 1: Creating a Test

1. On the Course Content page, select the purple plus sign where you would like to add the test.

The right up arrow is pointing to the hollow circle with the plus sign in the middle of it.

2. Select “Create” from the drop down menu.

The left red arrow is pointing to the Create option. The options are Copy Content, Upload, Cloud Storage, Content Market and Content Market.

3. Below "Assessments", click "Test".

Below the Assessment section, the left red arrow is pointing to the Test option.

4. Enter a new title for your test in the header.

The words Computer Processing were entered in for the test's title.


Step 2: Auto-generate questions.

1. To add content to the test, click the purple plus sign.

2. Select "Auto-generate question".

The upward red pointing arrow is pointing to the Auto-generate question option.

3. Click "Select Course Items".

Within the Auto-Generated Question page, the downward left arrow is pointing to the Select course items button with a black border around it.

4. Select the course item(s) and then click "Select Items".

The downward red arrow is pointing to the two items that will be used for their content. The other downward red arrow is pointing to the Select Items button which is the black box with the white text Select Items.

5. Select your Question Type. [Note: If you leave it as "Inspire me!", the AI Design Assistant will generate questions based on different question types. 

For the Question Types option, the Inspired me! option is being selected. The other options are Essay, Fill in the blank and Matching.

6. Using the scroll bar, set the Complexity and the number questions you want to be generated.

Below Complexity the bar is moved over to 3/4 of the length of the bar. For the number of questions, the bar is moved over to number 4.

7. Click "Generate".

8. Select the questions you want to be added to your test and then click "Add # to Assessment". 

The right red arrows are pointing to the questions that will be used. The downward red arrow is pointing to the black box with the white text Add 4 to assessment.


Step 3: Customize the Test Settings

1. Te edit the test settings, click the gear icon next to "Test Settings".

2. In the Test Settings panel, review the preset options for due dates, student attempts, grades, etc. and adjust the settings according to your preferences:

In the Details & Information, the 3/7/24 is the set for the due date and 11:59 PM for the time.

3. Click “Save” when you have finished adjusting the settings.

4. By default, the test will be hidden from students. Click the drop down menu in the top right corner to adjust the visibility settings.
