Kaltura: Recycle Bin

Introduction

Kaltura provides a convenient way to manage media files. One useful feature within Kaltura My Media is the Recycle Bin, which allows users to recover deleted media files. This article explains how to use the Recycle Bin feature effectively, including how to restore, permanently delete, and manage your media files.

What is the Recycle Bin?

The Recycle Bin in Kaltura is a valuable feature for managing media files, preventing accidental loss, and optimizing storage. Understanding how to restore and permanently delete media ensures efficient media management within the Kaltura platform.

Recycle bin use case?

With Kaltura’s recycle bin, you no longer have to worry about accidentally deleting an entry or changing your mind afterward because the recycle bin allows you to delete entries with an option to restore them later. Not only will the item be restored to its rightful place, but its original name, tags, details, metadata, and functionality will also be restored.

Accessing the Kaltura Recycle Bin

You will find the My Recycle bin button on your My Media page. Click the button, and you will be brought to your Recycle Bin.

The first time it’s opened, it will be empty.

💡 Only users who own the media file can see the deleted media in the recycle bin. Guest users won’t have access.
