Creating Extra Credit Test Questions in Ultra

In Blackboard you can create extra credit questions to allow students to overachieve on an assessment or earn points lost on other assessments or activities.

A correct answer results in adding the extra credit question points to the overall grade of the assessment. Students are not penalized for incorrect extra credit answers to questions. Points are not deducted because the question is excluded from the assessment’s total possible points. If a student answers the extra credit questions correctly, it may be possible for the student to earn a score greater than 100% on the assessment. NEVER ADD YOUR EXTRA CREDIT POINTS TO THE MAX POINTS EARNED IN A TEST as this can give incorrect outcomes to your overall grade.

When adding extra credit to a test, remember not to add those extra credit points to your maximum grade points. If the maximum points allowed for a test is 100 and the extra credit questions allow for 10 extra points, keep the max points at 100 (see example below).
