Most YouTube videos have closed captions, and some may support multiple languages. Access to the captions options is found in the gear icon on the YouTube navigation bar.
Does my YouTube video have Closed Captions?
It is easy to tell if your YouTube video has closed captions. There are four easy steps:
Step 1. Click on the gear icon on the navigation bar
Step 2. Choose the “Subtitles/CC” menu item
Step 3. Selecting one of the options in the menu will enable those closed captions.
Step 4. If the menu only contains “English (auto-generated)”, then the video does NOT contain Professional Closed Captions
Once the Closed Captions are enabled, the CC button will be underlined in red.
