Importing Word Test into Respondus and Exporting Respondus Test Locally as Test

This article is separated into three sections:


Step 1 Importing Word Test into Respondus

1 - Start Respondus and then click Import Questions.

2 - Click the down arrow and select Microsoft Word 2007 (DOCX).

3 - Click Browse.

4 - Select the Word file that contains the test questions and then click Open.

 5 - Enter a name for the question bank and then click Preview.

6 - Just verify that you received no warnings and then click on Finish

7 - Click Ok.

Step 2 - Exporting Respondus Test locally as a Test

1 - Click Preview + Publish.

2 - Click Publish.

3 - Click Publish Wizard.

4 - Turn on "Save pool to local file for manual uploading" and then click Next.

5 - Click Save As.

6 - provide a file name for your question bank and then click on Save. [Note: Make sure that the file name does not have any blank spaces.]

7 - Turn on "Test with points" and then click Finish. [Note: Pool means Question Bank in Blackboard Ultra.]

8 - Click on Ok.

Step 3 - Importing the Test into your Blackboard Course

1 - Open you Blackboard course.

2 - Click the three dots and then click Import Content.

3 - Click on Import Course Content.

4 - Select the Test zip file and then click Open.

5 - You will see the message below.

6 - Refresh your screen and scroll down to the bottom of the course where you will see the Undeployed Test folder.

7 - Expand the Undeployed Tests folder so that you see the new test that was imported into your course.

8 - You can now move the newly import test to a different location within the course. 

The upward red arrow is pointing the 6 dots to the right of the imported test to give you the ability to move it.

9 - Once you have moved the newly import test to a different location, you want to make sure that you delete out the Undeployed Tests folder.
