Zoom: Share and play video files directly into meeting

“The Video option under Advanced share options will allow you to choose a video file, which will be opened by Zoom and played in the meeting as shared content. The host has typical video player controls (pause/ play, volume control, full screen, video length/elapsed time), which are not seen by other participants during share. MP4 and MOV files are supported, and max video resolution is 1080p.” (Zoom Help Center)

1. Make sure that your Zoom desktop client’s version is 5.5.0 or higher. (Please refer to https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/201362233-Upgrade-update-to-the-latest-version to learn how to download and update your desktop client to the latest version.)

2. In your Zoom meeting, click “Share Screen” along the meeting toolbar.

3. Click the “Advanced” tab.

4. Click the “Video” thumbnail and then click “Share”.

5. You will need to select your video file which is located on your computer and the click “Open”.

You located the video on your local machine, select it and then click on the blue square button with white lettering that spells out OK.

6. The Video player will open, you will be able to play, pause and stop the video. “Host has typical video player controls (pause/ play, volume control, full screen, video length/elapsed time), which are not seen by other participants during share.
