Why maintain a personal email address
With the enhanced security of Microsoft 365 (M365) Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) combined with using your M365 account to access other applications, ITS wants to ensure you can always sign in.
If you become unable to receive MFA codes or experience password issues, when you contact the ITS Help Center we may need to send you temporary access codes via verifiable means.
ITS considers the following two (2) means as verifiable when you maintain these in MyRIC under your personal contact info:
- Mobile phone number for SMS text message (Cell Primary)
- Personal email address
You have been able to manage your mobile phone number in MyRIC, and now you are able to maintain your personal email address.
