Creating a Group Assignment

1. On the Course Content page, click the purple plus sign where you would like to create the new group assignment:

2. Select “Create” from the dropdown menu:

3. Below “Assessment”, click “Assignment”:

4. Within the assignment window, click the gear icon next to “Assignment Settings”:

5. Under “Details & Information”, click “Allow class conversations” if you would like students to have the ability to choose between communicating with their groups or with the class as a whole:

6. Under “Additional Tools”, click “Assign to groups”:

7. Next to “Group students”, indicate how you would like students to be split into groups in the dropdown menu. You may choose to customize groups, randomly assign groups, or allow students to self-enroll in groups. You may also reuse previously established groups:

8. When you have finished editing groups, click “Save”:

9. Click “Save” again at the bottom of the Assignment Settings panel:

10. If you would like to remove group settings from the assignment, open the Assignment Settings panel, hover over “Assigned groups”, and click the garbage bin to the right:
